Greetings, Red Oak Rotarians!
Welcome to October, folks! We have an exciting month planned as we focus on polio and Rotary's role in nearly eradicating the wild polio virus. We'll have a polio survivor come speak to us on Oct. 22. His is a powerful and visible reminder of the impact of polio. Feel free to invite others to hear his presentation. Then, on Oct. 29, Gary Bren, the district polio chair, will visit our club and talk about what Rotary is doing to eradicate polio and how our district and club plays a part in that. At this time, we will have our club polio donation ready to present to him.
But first, we kick off the month at our meeting next Tuesday (Oct. 8). We will have a condensed visioning meeting as we work towards drafting our club's strategic plan. This is the perfect opportunity for each member to voice their thoughts on what we as a club value, prioritize, fund, and focus on. Don't worry! It will be fun and interactive! We truly value everyone's input because it's everyone's club.
Finally, the new club shirts have arrived. We have short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and tank tops available. Each shirt is $20. If you did not pre-order one, fear not! We do have extras available. In short-sleeve, we have 1 medium and 3 large shirts; in long-sleeve, we have 1 medium, 1 large, and 2 extra-large shirts; in tank tops, we have 2 medium, 2 large, and 2 extra-large available. I will try to have the shirts available at the social on Tuesday and at our meetings in October.
Respectfully,
Emily H. Martin
