Greetings, Red Oak Rotarians!
We are well into November now and we're gearing up for a busy month. As I sit to write this, I am struggling to find something inspirational or relevant to say. Several ideas have run through my head, but they just seemed forced.
I could write about No-Shave November and the other November social media trends of not conforming to societal norms. I could tie that into our club rising above the expectations of our community and becoming truly impactful.
I could write about the election and how, regardless of how you voted, we need to continue to work together for the growth and betterment of our community and country. I could remind everyone how Rotary is a non-religious and non-political organization.
But I think I'll just remind you about our meeting on Tuesday. Our guest speaker is Tracee Knapp - she's an aide to Congressman Zach Nunn. I know. I just said we are non-political. Tracee will speak to us about her role in Nunn's office and how any aide serves their community. As a bonus, Tracee is a sister to our very own Kelli Bucy, so I hope we can all welcome her as a guest and a family member.
And, don't forget - our Rotary Poker game is starting this Tuesday. For more information about what that means, be sure you read the article in this week's newsletter.
Respectfully,
Emily H. Martin
