I'm Back!

Greetings, Red Oak Rotarians!

I know - I know. It's been forever since I've sent out a newsletter. Sometimes, the words are hard to find. But I'm back now, so hold on to your hats! Here we go!

What a GREAT month February has been! We successfully completed another Daddy Daughter Dance. We had upwards of 175 young ladies attend. We made a few tweaks in the evening, and they were a BIG hit, and made the dance much more manageable all around. Kudos to Anne and her team for all the work they put into the dance! (Check out the attached album)

We hosted another Dash for Cash. Thank you to Anne and Nick for being there to help man the table and to Sueann French from KCSI for manning the microphone during the event. No one found the money on the court this year. There was pretty low participation from the audience, so it may be time to consider a different half-time activity that may interest more people. We welcome any suggestions you may have!

The Evening Extension is still collecting snack items for the teachers at the school to provide to kids who need them during the month of February. These snacks would include granola bars, Nutrigrain bars, snack crackers (is individual bags/wrappers), trail mix, etc. If you'd like to add to the donation, please bring your items to either our last February meeting (25th) or connect with Candy. The Extension meetings are on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays at Stadium 34 at 5:30 p.m.

Our meeting on Feb. 25th will be at Red Oak Fabrication (across from Cubbys). We are going to go on a tour and learn about the new projects going on out there and the growth of their business. We will still plan to meet at noon. Sack lunches will be provided. However, please sign up so Chris Amos has an idea of how many to order.

Please note: cans will NOT be done on March 1st, and the can time for March 8th is at 10 a.m. to allow Rotarians to attend the legislative coffee, if they choose. Be sure you sign up to help - click on the link listed in the events in order to sign up. Thank you!

Respectfully,
