Greetings, Red Oak Rotarians!
Next Tuesday is our monthly business meeting. For the first time in more than a year, we have a new membership application to approve (YAY!). If you haven't yet, check your email for details on the who and why. There are a few other minor business items, as well, so it is very important that we have as many members there as possible to make sure we make quorum. I would hate for Eric's membership to be delayed because we didn't have enough people at the meeting to approve his application.
At this week's meeting, we scheduled our fall highway clean-up for Wednesday, Sept. 25th. We will meet at Cubby's at 5:15 and start cleaning right at 5:30. It's getting darker earlier now, so we want to start promptly. And, of course, the more people we have, the faster it will go. To sign up, click the link under "Upcoming Events" in this newsletter.
This week, we also announced the details for our fall social. We will meet on Tuesday, October 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Arlington Place. WW2 veteran Al Hayes will be sharing stories and memorabilia from his military days, followed by a social time with fellow Rotarians and residents of Arlington Place. Meat, beer and wine will be provided. Rotarians are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Please let Kaylin or myself know if you plan to attend. Spouses, partners, and friends are all welcome. It promises to be a fantastic evening! You won't want to miss it.
Respectfully,
Emily H. Martin
